Drivers operating any vehicle used for university-business travel must act in accordance with all applicable laws, state regulations, and University of Oregon policies and procedures.
Process
Prior to driving on University business employees and other authorized users should:
- Complete the driver certification process
- Complete the Personal Vehicle Use Form (if applicable)
- Review the Vehicle Policy and Travel Policy
- Understand and review how to report a claim
- Request Accident Packet and Proof of Insurance

*Employees are encouraged to utilize State of Oregon contract which provides discount rates, car upgrades, and insurance coverage. If an employee rents a vehicle outside the state contract, we encourage them to use their corporate travel card when renting a vehicle. The corporate one card offers Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage through the credit card benefits. A claim must be filed within 90 days of the date of the incident in order for Collision Loss Damage Waiver coverage to extend to the loss. To file a claim notify riskmanagement@uoregon.edu
