The Emergency Management and Continuity Program helps the UO community protect against, respond to, continue during, and recover from natural and human-caused emergencies.

Emergency Management protects the university's ability to meet its mission of teaching, research, and public service. 

Prepare

Emergency Management and UOPD offer personal safety and emergency preparedness trainings. Topics include active threat, pepper spray, de-escalation, and situational awareness. Find preparedness videos and upcoming trainings in the Resource Hub. You can request a training

Make a Plan

The time to prepare for an emergency is before it occurs, so take some time now to create an emergency plan for future use.  

Personal 

A personal emergency plan can include:

  • Thinking about how you'll contact family.
  • Building a personal emergency supply kit.
  • Preparing your pets.
Classroom

Faculty resources are available to incorporate into class preparation and course materials such as:

  • Evacuation routes.
  • Sample syllabus language.
  • Emergency procedures posters.
Department

A collaborative, team approach to plan development leads to the strongest outcomes and provides the opportunity to:

  • Discuss response options.
  • Compile procedures.
  • Train staff.
