Students should use caution traveling to class, residence halls, and dining venues.

Those required to be on campus should use caution outdoors.

Location: River front area 278 south bank path.

What: Armed robbery reported

Suspect Description: Three suspects

1: Native American male, wearing black sweatshirt and grey pants 

2:  White male, with tear drop tattoo on face, wearing black and white basketball shorts  

3: White female, with purple hair, wearing grey color Fox brand sweatshirt and blue jeans.  

Items taken: wallet with cash and cell phone.  

UO Action Taken:  Law enforcement is responding.

What-to-do:  Avoid the area. If you can provide information about this incident call 541-346-2919. In emergencies or if you see a crime being committed, call 9-1-1.

What/Suspect Description: Barricaded suspect most likely armed.   

UO Action Taken:  Law enforcement is on scene. EPD requests those within 2 blocks shelter in place.

December 9, 2024  11:50 a.m.

The University of Oregon Police Department will conduct an active threat training exercise with Johnson Hall building occupants on Thursday, Dec. 12, between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.  

All training will be done inside the building. Johnson Hall will be closed and locked during the exercise. No one will be allowed to enter. Signs indicating that an exercise is occurring will be placed at entrances and exits.  

Passersby may see police vehicles nearby and uniformed officers entering and exiting the building. Some loud sounds may be heard.   

Regular training and exercises are vital to developing and maintaining key emergency response skills and are critical to the overall safety and security of the campus.  

Even with advance knowledge, those passing Johnson Hall may experience adverse reactions because of the sights and sounds that will be part of the training. Student crisis support is available 24/7 by calling 541-346-3227. Visit the Mental Health Services and Employee Assistance Plans websites for additional resources.
