UO Alerts can notify you about a situation, highlight an area to avoid, or call for urgent action such as to evacuate or shelter indoors. When an emergency or immediate threat has concluded, an All Clear message is sent.
Most alerts messages start with a keyword or phrase designed to help you act quickly to ensure your safety or the safety of others.
These UO Alerts Actions are described below.
BE AWARE
- This is informational.
- Remain alert.
- Pay attention to your surroundings.
AVOID
- Avoid the indicated area.
- Pay attention to your surroundings.
EVACUATE
- Leave the indicated area immediately and move to a safer location.
- Use evacuation routes.
- Go outside calmly and quickly.
SHELTER
- Go indoors or seek cover.
- Protect yourself from external environmental hazards.
- Close doors and windows if instructed.
RUN. HIDE. FIGHT.
- This is for an Active Threat.
- Run if you have a clear escape path.
- Hide behind a locked door, furniture, or walls.
- Fight only as a last resort.
ALL CLEAR
- The emergency has concluded and the immediate threat is over.
- The area is safe. Resume normal activities.
- This is the final UO Alert related to an incident.
