Safety Tips from UOPD
Be alert when traveling to, from, and around campus – especially at night. Learn about available personal safety trainings.
Travel in well-lit areas. The UO's Night Safety map highlights lit routes and emergency phones on campus.
Carry a charged cell phone with emergency numbers pre-programmed.

Communities are safest when members look out for each other.
Report suspicious activity or unauthorized strangers immediately.
Transportation and Safety Escorts
Eugene
- Duck Rides is a free, nighttime transportation service for UO students, staff, and faculty. Duck Rides runs 7 days a week, from 6:00 p.m.-midnight.
- Schedule a ride using the Duck Rides app or call 541-346-7433.
- UOPD provides free on-campus escorts. Response time will depend on available staff. If you are unable to find another shuttle, ride, or taxi call 541-346-2919.
Portland
UO Portland security guards can walk students, faculty, and staff to their vehicles in the parking lot, and to nearby bus options.
The UO Portland Security Office is located on the second floor of the UO Portland Campus Center.
Support For Survivors of Crime
No action or inaction by a crime survivor makes that person responsible for his or her victimization. Perpetrators are responsible for crimes and their effects. At the university and 24 hours a day by phone there are resources and support for survivors of crime.
- Students who have experienced sexual or domestic violence can find immediate help and confidential resources at safe.uoregon.edu or the 24-hour SAFE hotline at 541-346-SAFE (7233).
- The Office of the Dean of Students Care and Advocacy Program can help student survivors of a crime find support options online or call 541-346-3216.
- University Counseling Services is open weekdays until 5:00 p.m. For 24-hour crisis support call 541-346-3227.
- Duck Nest in EMU is staffed by Peer Wellness Advocates and provides a place for students to practice self-care and life-balance.
