UO Alert: Canvas Outage Update

Canvas continues to be affected by the major national outage we shared with you yesterday, which has impacted hundreds of institutions across the country. We expect to bring Canvas back online at the University of Oregon by the end of the day today. Thank you for your patience as Information Services and Instructure, the company that operates Canvas, work to fully restore the system.

We will post an additional update once Canvas is fully restored. 

In the meantime, please continue to follow the guidance from yesterday's message: 

  • Do not attempt to use Canvas until we confirm it is fully restored. 
  • If you are already in Canvas, log off. If it prompts you to perform any action — such as clicking a link, logging in, resetting your password, or completing any tasks — do not proceed. 
  • Be cautious of any unsolicited messages referencing Canvas, your UO account, or this outage. 
  • Report suspicious messages through service.uoregon.edu.
