UO students and faculty, Canvas is experiencing a major national outage at hundreds of institutions across the country, including the University of Oregon. The outage is ongoing, and Instructure, the company that operates Canvas, is aware of the issue. 

What You Can Do:

• Do not attempt to use Canvas. 
• If you are already in Canvas, log off. If it prompts you to perform any action — such as clicking a link, logging in, resetting your password, or completing any tasks — do not proceed. These prompts may not be legitimate while the system is down. 
• Be cautious of any unsolicited messages referencing Canvas, your UO account. 
• Report suspicious messages through https://service.uoregon.edu. 

What Else You Should Know:

UO Information Services is in active contact with Instructure, has reviewed and rotated relevant credentials, and is coordinating with the Office of the General Counsel. We take the security of community information seriously and will continue to update you if new, verified information becomes available.
