UO Alert Eugene Crime Alert - Rock thrown at runner

June 16, 2025, 3:45 p.m. 

A member of the UO community reported that on Thursday, June 12, approximately 8:30 p.m., they were running on 18th Avenue near the Pioneer Cemetery when a fist-sized rock was thrown from a passing vehicle, hitting them in the back. A derogatory statement was also yelled.  The vehicle is described as a grey/silver sedan with tinted windows. The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old male. 

Campus community members should use caution and be aware as similar incidents have occurred in the campus area recently. People have reported being yelled at and/or struck by objects coming from a vehicle.
