The University of Oregon Police Department (UOPD) facilitates and manages building access control, first response for medical or other emergencies, provides emergency dispatch, security assessment, and special event safety planning. UOPD personnel patrol the campus and respond to needs 24 hours per day, by vehicle, bike, and on foot.
UOPD’s vision is to become a world-class campus law enforcement agency reflective of a world-class university. UOPD uses a community policing approach and seeks to engage thoroughly with its community to build trust and teamwork to improve safety and security.
UOPD is a separate agency and distinct in its mission from the Eugene Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies.
