Environmental Monitoring

As a nationally recognized leader in fostering environmental awareness of university students, the university supports initiatives that create synergies between the campus and the community. The UO has several programs to monitor its environmental performance. These programs include monitoring activities connected to the following permits or registrations:

  • National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
  • Wastewater Discharge
  • Hazardous Waste
  • Underground Injection Control
  • Air Contaminant Discharge

Compliance

Responsibility for ensuring compliance with these permits lies with Environmental Health and Safety. These programs are intended to comply with local, state, and federal wastewater, stormwater, air quality and hazardous waste regulations.
